Jenny Brosinski and VogelART have released an elaborately produced edition. The edition was created together with a great passion for Jenny Brosinksi´s art. For Jenny Brosinski it was exciting to see how her works "hairy little things II" and "here she comes" could be published in an edition. A special aspect is that the edition was produced on linen, which she uses for her often large-format paintings. Although a coating applied by her weakens the fabric structure slightly, printing on it has something illusionistic and almost poetic for Jenny Brosinski. When producing, she raises the question of truth and memory, which is a central theme in her painting.
For this edition, Brosinski has chosen two aspects in her works - the open/closed composition and the female/male aspect. As with painting, Jenny Brosinski also primes the canvas for the edition in several layers by hand. This creates a desired uniqueness - also due to the slightly different formats she cuts. A reproduction of the originals is then printed in a very high-quality archive pigment print. Each edition is thus unique with Jenny Brosinski´s handwriting and love for detail. The work is signed and serially numbered.
Jenny Brosinski und VogelART haben eine aufwendig produzierte Edition herausgebracht. Die Edition ist gemeinsam mit einer großen Leidenschaft für Jenny Brosinksi´s Kunst entstanden. Für Brosinski war es spannend zu erkennen, wie denn ihre Werke „hairy little things II“ und „here she comes“ in einer Editionsproduktion umgesetzt werden könnten. Ein besonderer Aspekt ist, dass die Edition auf dem gleichen Leinen produziert wurde, das Sie auch bei ihren oft großformatigen Malereien verwendet. Ein von ihr aufgebrachtes Coating schwächt die Stoffstruktur zwar leicht ab, aber dann darauf zu drucken hat für Jenny Brosinski etwas Illusionistisches fast Poetisches. Beim Produzieren wirft sie die Frage nach Wahrheit und Erinnerung auf, die ein zentrales Thema in ihrer Malerei ist.
Für diese Edition hat Brosinski zwei Aspekte in ihren Arbeiten ausgewählt – die offene/geschlossene Komposition und der weiblich/männliche Aspekt. Wie bei der Malerei grundiert Jenny Brosinski das Leinen auch für die Edition in mehreren Schichten von Hand. Dadurch entsteht eine gewünschte Einzigartigkeit – auch durch die von Ihr zugeschnittenen leicht unterschiedlichen Formate. Es wird dann im sehr hochwertigen Archivpigmentdruck eine Reproduktion der Originale gedruckt. Jede Edition ist somit einzigartig mit Jenny Brosinski´s Handschrift und Liebe zum Detail entstanden. Die Arbeit ist signiert und fortlaufend nummeriert.
Jenny Brosinski's minimalist and abstract work of contemporary painting focuses on the gesture of artistic creation. She often uses raw canvases to create large-scale mixed media paintings that capture the imagination through a light, infantile aesthetic. At first glance, her visual compositions seem random in their simplicity - but are created very consciously in the process as she "works" her canvases, looking at them and deconstructing them again until the work is "right”. She uses a mixed technique of classic oil paint, acrylic, spray paint but also dirt and dust, olive oil and bleach for which the washing machine is also used. This process-oriented approach allows the viewer to participate in her studio experience, and she uses her fascination with materials, incompleteness, and failure to create images that are often reminiscent of minimalism, calligraphic aesthetics, Écriture automatique, or children's drawings.
Jenny Brosinski (1984) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees at the Kunstakademie Weißensee Berlin. Her paintings are shown internationally. In Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Australia and the USA and Korea. Her work can be found in the MMCA National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (KOR), Public Collection of the City of Gothenburg (SWE), Martin Z. Margulies Collection (USA), Sammlung Wemhöner (GER), Sammlung Flick (GER), Bech Risvig Collection (DK), Kai Loebach Collection (USA), Ernesto Esposito (IT), Hannecart Collection (BE), Just Love me - Collection (Luxembourg), among others. Jenny Brosinski is represented by Almine Rech, Wentrup, Ruttkowski68 and Knust Kunz and others. In 2022 she will have solo shows at Almine Rech, Wentrup and Knust Kunz and others.
Jenny Brosinskis minimalistisches und abstraktes Werk der zeitgenössischen Malerei setzt den Focus auf den Gestus künstlerischen Schaffens. Sie verwendet häufig rohe Leinwände, um großformatige Mixed-Media-Gemälde zu schaffen, die durch eine leichte, infantile Ästhetik die Fantasie anregen. Ihre Bildkompositionen wirken in ihrer Einfachheit auf den ersten Blick wie zufällig – entstehen aber sehr bewusst im Prozess während sie ihre Leinwände „bearbeitet“, betrachtet und wieder dekonstruiert so lange bis die Arbeit „stimmt“. Sie verwendet eine Mischtechnik aus klassischer Ölfarbe, Acryl, Sprühfarbe aber auch Schmutz und Staub, Olivenöl und Bleiche bei der auch die Waschmaschine zum Einsatz kommt. Diese prozessorientierte Herangehensweise lässt den Betrachter an ihrer Ateliererfahrung teilhaben und sie nutzt ihre Faszination für Materialien, Unvollständigkeit und Scheitern, um Bilder zu schaffen, die oft an Minimalismus, kalligrafischer Ästhetik, Écriture automatique oder Kinderzeichnungen erinnern.
