About the artist
Liam Gillick (* 1964) is an British painter, sculptor and object artist. He lives in New York. Liam Gillick graduated from Goldsmiths College in 1987 with a degree in Fine Art. He is one of the Young British Artist. Gillick is primarily interested in analyzing structures, social organizations, and human interaction. Using mass-produced materials, such as aluminum, chipboard, and Plexiglas creates modular objects. Gillick uses the forms and the materials of abstract art and of the Minimal Art of the sixties as tools. His works are to be found in international museums and private collections.
